Thunder Mountain Raceway Remembers Gary Hough

Thunder Mountain Raceway Remembers Jim Graham

Jim Graham
Born October 18, 1952
Passed July 8, 2010It is with great sadness that we have received word of Jim’s passing. We have lost one of our racing family, but Jimmy was much more than a racer. He was a track helper in many ways. The most notable was the position of Webmaster. He set it up and ran the Thunder Mountain Raceway website for years until his passing.
Jim loved cars. The wheelchair did not slow up his automotive desires. He was 75% through putting a 1973 Vega Altered together to go with his 1966 Plymouth.

Jim leaves his wife Brenda, and daughters Cheryl and Emily.

Gone but never forgotten.

On Loan
“I’ll lend you for a little while a child of mine, he said,
For you to love the while she lives
and mourn for when she’s dead.
It may be six or seven years or forty-two or three
but, will you till I call her back
take care of her for me?
She’ll bring her charms to gladden you
and should her stay be brief
You have her lovely memories, as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught down there,
I want for her to learn.
I’ve looked the wide world over in search for teachers true,
and from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes
I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love,
not think the labor vain
Nor hate me when I come to call to take her home again?
And should the angels call for her
much sooner that you’d planned,
Please bear the grief that comes, and try to understand.”

Thunder Mountain Raceway Remembers Dennis Carter

It is with great sadness we at TMR have to inform you we have lost another of our racing family. Dennis Carter car No. 211 Died suddenly on Dec 29 05. Dennis Carter was born November 11 1947, deceased December 29 2005.  Survived by Brenda Carter, and children  Ken 31 , Mike 27 and Jennifer 18. Dennis was an active member of TMR since 2002 , when Dennis wasn’t racing his Malibu or Chevy P/U  he was a constant volunteer making TMR a better place to race. Dennis Carter a lover of drag racing and a friend to all who knew him, You will be missed by TMR and all its members.

As most of you all know Dennis has crewed for me for the past 5 years and I personally will miss him a lot.  It’s strange that you can spend that much time with someone racing almost every other weekend and you have virtually no photos of them.  However, attached is one photo that I do have that was taken this year in Spokane, I think shows Dennis as Dennis was, and how I will always remember him.    A Celebration of life for Dennis Carter will be held at 6:pm on Tuesday night at the Holiday Inn in Westbank. A reception will follow at Brenda Carters home at 2225 Majoros Rd. Westbank Ph: 768-6964 For those who wish to pay their personal respects to Dennis, Viewings will take place at the Springfield Funeral Home from 9:am to 5:pm Monday and Tuesday, Ph 860-7077.

Thunder Mountain Raceway remembers Nolan Andrewchow

It was said “He was married to his car and his quad” when it came to racing

Thunder Mountain Raceway
has to say goodbye to one of our young racers taken too soon. Nolan was an avid participant in the Sled/Bike class. His passion for drag racing was never more evident than on race days when he would inquire several times throughout the day….Laura…“When can I race again” Nolan will be missed but not forgotten
Nolans number 12 has been retired
