RULES FOR RACERS AND PIT
CREW
Revised 2007 |
| |
|
1. Drivers and pit
crew must follow all rules and regulations, or they can be asked to
leave and will not be welcome back. We want everyone to have a safe and
fun time at our facility.
2. All Racers must pay
their racing fee at the Tech Shack, you will receive a tech card with a
number (#) for your vehicle. Fill in the top part of the card, neatly
and clearly. This info gets put into the computer, and allows you to
make a recorded run. If your tech card is illegible, it will not be
entered, and if you make a run you will have no time slip.
3. Drivers MUST pick a
CLASS to get entered into the computer!
If your vehicle runs a
different time than expected, YES, you can change class at the Tech
Shack. This only can be done during Qualifying. The responsibility is
on you the driver to monitor your time slips, once Eliminations start,
you cannot change your class, and will forfeit the event.
4. The crucial areas at
the track are STAGING LANES, BURN OUT BOX and STARTING LINE. By
following the directions of the staff, the day will run smoothly for
everyone. All the staff that you see working are Volunteers, they are
here to have fun too.
5. All Drivers and Pit
Crew (non members) pay their entry fee and sign the waiver sheet at the
gate. Racing Fees are paid at the Tech Shack.
6. Only one other
vehicle per race entry is allowed in the pit area. Any other vehicles
Must Park in the Spectator Parking Lots. If you fail to follow these
rules you run the risk of being towed away to the Spectator lots at
your own expense.
7. All classes will run
with a 5/10ths Full Tree, EXCEPT Bike, Doorslammer & Top Comp will
have a 4/10ths Pro Tree.
8. Passengers are
allowed, but the pass cannot be faster than 10.00 seconds. This rule is
in effect for new drivers that wish to have an experienced racer seated
beside them. This only applies to Time Onlys.
9. Courtesy staging is
the rule. If you activate the first set of small lights,(prestage),
wait for your competitor to do the same, then activate the second set
of small lights, (stage) by slowly advancing your vehicle forward.
10. At the end of your
run the Left Lane (Tower) has the right of way in the shut down area.
Make sure your vehicle has slowed to a much reduced mph, before making
your turn onto the return road.
CAUTION: There may be race
and tow vehicles still sitting on the first corner. TAKE IT SLOWLY!
11. The first corner off
the return road, IS NOT FOR SOCIALIZING. Have your race vehicle and
crew moved out of the area, as soon as it is safe to do so.
12. Staging Lanes - are
OFF LIMITS to anyone other than Drivers and Pit Crew. You can help us
police this area by instructing friends and relatives to watch from the
Grandstand area, or if you see people in the lanes that do not have the
appropriate wristbands on, please let them know they are in a
restricted area
13. Do Not leave your
vehicle unattended in the staging lanes, or locked up, or running
without a capable adult in the driver seat.
14. Burnout Box: Racers
must have all their windows rolled up, doors secured and be race ready
before entering the burnout box.
15. What to do after
completing your run. Qualifying and eliminations are both run by class.
When the announcer calls your class to the staging lanes, advance to
the designated lanes, wait until the staging director motions you into
the water box. After a run, return to your pit area, park, come to the
Tech Shack for your time slip.
Eliminations: Sunday be
aware of the classes as they are running. If you are a participant and
see other cars from your class in the lanes, you have missed your call.
if you get your vehicle into staging before last call, great, if not,
your competitor will have a single run and you will be out of
competition. You will however be able to run T/O's when they are
called. The responsibility lies with the driver to be aware of how the
classes are running, this is another good reason to never be away from
your car. Also, be patient, equipment can malfunction and we do get
backed up in the Tech Shack. It helps to have a crew member wait for
your time slip so you can be with your vehicle. |
