TOP COMP RULES
revised 2007

GENERAL REGULATIONS

• The Thunder Mountain Top Comp Class is for cars running 6.49 seconds or quicker.

• The schedule for qualifying and racing times is subject to weather conditions.

• Time-only runs will not count as qualifying runs.

CAR REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS

• Cars running quicker than 4.49 seconds must conform to all NHRA ADVANCED E.T. Rules (section 1B NHRA Rule Book.)

• Cars running slower than 4.50 seconds should conform to all NHRA SUPER PRO Rules (Section 1A NHRA Rule Book.)

FEES

• All cars will pay the regular track fee as set by the membership on a yearly basis.
(this fee is covered by the purchase of a 1 year/Ext. Race Pass)

QUALIFYING

SATURDAY

• TOP COMP Qualifying will take place at the specific times of 1 pm, 2:30 pm and 4 pm.

• Staging Lanes will CLOSE at 1 pm, 2:30 pm and 4 pm.

• Cars NOT in staging at this time will not be allowed to make a TOP COMP qualifying run.

• All qualifying runs will be SIDE BY SIDE, except for any unpaired last car in staging.

• TOP COMP cars can make time-only runs, at any time, at the discretion of the STAGING DIRECTOR

• All TOP COMP cars must alternate lanes when making qualifying passes.

SUNDAY

• Tech will be closed on Sunday at 10:30 am sharp.

• One round of LAST DITCH Qualifying for the TOP COMP class will take place at 11 am sharp.

• Staging lanes will CLOSE at 11 am.

Cars not in staging at that time will not be allowed to make a qualifying run.

SUNDAY’S TOP COMP RACE

LADDER - As per NHRA RULE BOOK (1 runs 8)(2 runs 7)(3 runs 6)(4 runs 5)

• Ladder will be set at the end of Sunday’s 11 am qualifying session.

RACING PROGRAM:

• Dial your own ET, 6.49 seconds minimum.

• 4/10 PRO Tree

• ELECTRONICS permitted

• #1 QUALIFIER receives first bye run. (Bye runs will be made last in each round)

• ONLY ONE BYE RUN PER RACE EVENT permitted for any participant.

• When necessary, lane choice will be determined by a coin toss.

RACE TIMES:

• FIRST ROUND @ 1:00 pm

• SECOND ROUND @ 2:00 pm

• THIRD ROUND @ 3:00 pm

• FINAL ROUND @ 4:00 pm

(above times subject to car count and weather conditions)

NOTE: Staging lanes close at the above times. (Final decision left to the discretion of the staging director) Cars not in staging, and paired, when the first pair of TOP COMP cars fire their engine will be DISQUALIFIED

RACE DAY PAYOUT:

As per the payout policy set by the THUNDER MOUNTAIN DRAG RACE DIVISION

• RACE SPONSORS money will be specifically allotted to the winners payouts, as per the sponsors instructions.

TOP COMP POINTS:

• 1 Points for qualifying for TOP COMP CLASS

• 1 Point for each round WON.

• Best  5 races will count towards TOP COMP CHAMPIONSHIP!

• Only O.A.S.C. members may collect points towards the seasons’ championship and any monies which may be attached to the championship.
